At the beginning, I wanted making this a rejoinder to an article I stumbled on in which the writer listed certain developments the Yahaya Bello led government is set to address. But doing such will only give an unnecessary credence to a paid writer and my conscience won’t forgive me for ever doing that. But however, the sudden concern of the state government towards the people of the state is beginning to become interesting and very laughable.

This government has never been a people-oriented government, it has always worked for the interest of itself and not the people. It has over the years strive towards meeting the needs of those that constitutes it’s oligarchy, so why then the sudden change?

Or could it be that some one is trying to fool the people and get their support come November? Could it be that the alleged refusal of the APC leadership to give the party’s flag to the incumbent governor is really true?

Some of us grew up with elders around and we are tempted to ask why the Adaka who is known for gra gra has suddenly become calm, hiding its cane and waving at every body he meets on the way, could it be that the rumors are true?

However, sending contractors back to site to pretend to be working, asking all this conscience drained facebook media aides to share pictures of half baked projects is not any way going to erase the fact that in the last three years no tangible development has been registered in Kogi state. It won’t even remove the a hair from the fact that in the last three years Kogi state has been a Banana Republic, known for all sort of abnormalities.

It doesn’t erase the fact that the present government is characterised with all sort of inappropriates, loose ends, shortsightedness and wastefulness.

And such hateful polishing at the tail end of the administration is not only a show of shame on the side of the state government, but a confirmation of the fact that this government has all this while impoverish the people intentionally. It also confirm to all well meaning Kogites that the present government has always been in a know of what is right for the people but has chosen to do what is wrong and detrimental to the development of the state and the bettering of the life of the common man in Kogi state.

We may not know what the decision of the APC will be, but we know vividly that a people who have been oppressed, subjected to all forms of leadership torture, frustration and poverty will not vote for a continuity of such government.

Also, we know that a people who have not been paid for 22 months now, a people sacked unduly, forcefully retired and called ghost pensioners even when they are alive, a people who do not have common drinkable water and still lack all the basic amenities will not be deceived by sharing pictures of half baked projects on Facebook. They won’t be deceived by sharing inflated figures of how the bail out and the monthly allocations have been spent.

An unemployed youth, who has not been empowered because he has not going up and down about shouting GYB, or because he has not been online sharing pictures of untraceable projects and writing articles on the political instigated privatization agreements will never be influenced by such lies.

No Kogite will be influenced by creating a new twitter handle for people to send in their questions and get all sort of lies and “story telling” as response to the questions.

The Leopard may change its name and pretend as long as it can, but it can never erase its spots.
