A governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Hon. Simeon Maha, has expressed confidence in the ability of the party to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 general elections.
Maha said that he had no doubt in the ability of the leading opposition party to return to power if the promise by President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure a free and credible election is kept.
“I believe PDP has a better chance to return to power in 2019 because the people have seen the difference between what the condition of living before 2015 and what we are experiencing now,” he said.
The former chairman of Dekina local government area stressed that the people of Kogi State had no alternative to PDP in the next governorship election because APC had failed them.
“We are working round the clock to ensure that Kogi is liberated from misrule which has been the practice since January 2016 when the present APC-led government took over power.”
Maha expressed confidence in his ability to clinch the governorship ticket of the confluence state based on his commitment to the party and experience.
“I stand a better chance because I remain loyal to the party even when those who are now returning to the party left for APC.”
The governorship aspirant described the present condition of things in the state as pathetic and urged all lovers of good governance to support PDP in enthroning good governance which the party stands for.
