Sunday Ogbu Assumes Duty As New Kogi State Police Commissioner

Newly deployed Kogi state Commissioner of Police, CP Esa Sunday Ogbu has assumed duty today, 30th March, 2018.

Recall that CP Ogbu was deployed to the state, following the redeployment of the former Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, CP Ali Janga out of the state by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris.

The directive to remove Ali Janga was given on Wednesday, March 28 after the escape of six (6) suspects from police custody.

Mr Idris had also redeployed the Commander, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in the state, the Divisional Police Officer ‘A’ Division, Lokoja and other police officers implicated in the escape for negligence, dereliction of duty and gross misconduct.

Meanwhile, CP Ogbu has informed the Force Headquarters of his assumption of duty.
