Administrator of Ofu local government area of Kogi state, Hon. Abu Sule Egbiti has commended ex-service men in the country for their sacrifices for peace of the nation.
Egbiti gave the commendation yesterday in Ugwalawo at the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
In his remarks, the administrator thanked ex-services men in uniform for their sacrifices to the nation and urged people in Ofu to continue to embrace peace and love one another for the development of the local government, Kogi state and Nigeria.
“We all owe the Armed Forces of Nigeria for the sacrifice they have made in keeping Nigeria in peace from the times of world wars to the civil war, the peace keeping mission in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali up to our own other internal security challenges. Many of them have lost their lives in the line of duty.
“We thank them so much for making sure that we still remain safe and alive today,” he said.
The administrator inspected the guard of honor and led service chiefs in the local Government to laying of the wreath in honor of those who sacrificed their lives to keep Nigeria one.
Abu Ebgiti also did the traditional releasing of white pigeons along with the service chiefs before going round to greet members of the Nigerian legion, retired soldiers in the local government.
