The member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu has condemned in totality and commiserated with the governor and people of Benue State over the mass genocide and wanton destruction of lives and property in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas of the state in the New Year.
The law maker’s reaction followed a protest by hundreds of youth in Benue state on Wednesday during which the major entry points into the state were blocked while they called on President Muhammadu Buhari’s intervention to against future attacks.
“The scenes I saw on the television are too barbaric to talk about and I condemn this man’s inhumanity against man in totality. While I’m commiserating with the governor and people of Benue state, everything must be done to provide security for the people living in the affected areas,” he noted.
Speaking further, he commiserated with the bereaved families and wished the injured speedy recovery.
It will be recalled that the Benue state governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom has said on Tuesday that armed herdsmen killed over twenty and injured over thirty victims in Benue state between Monday and Tuesday while addressing journalists in Makurdi after the State Council Security Meeting which lasted for about three going go four hours.
