Kogi Gets First Co-working Space and Innovation Lab

Mentor Box, a social enterprise is solving challenges associated with youth restiveness and unemployment in Kogi State through its innovative approach to providing an affordable, conducive and convenient co-working space and innovation lab targeted at youth led start-ups.

Speaking at the official launch of Mentor Box, the Co-Founder, Eunice Emmanuel-Bagi said the co-working space which doubles as a Youth Hub is part of efforts to achieve the bigger vision of solving local problems centered around achieving the sustainable development goals using a different approach.

The Social Entrepreneur explained that the initiative is designed to bridge infrastructural and skill gaps affecting young people in the state by providing mentorship programs, regular workshops and trainings to create an eco-system for young people to equip them with the right skills, tools and information needed to thrive in the twenty first century.

The Co-Founder explained that Mentor Box will host several incubation programmes, hackathons and pitching competitions to provide a platform for start-ups especially tech startups to grow in the state.

Miss Emmanuel-Bagi disclosed that Mentor Box is more than just a physical location it a vision borne out of the will to inspire the next generation to out-do the present in all spheres of development.

“I am passionate about Kogi State and its youth, I believe that the only way we can solve our problems is by taking ownership of those problems, we cannot wait for the Government to solve our problems we must do the bit that we can and then somehow hope that we inspire others to continue in this legacy,” she said.

Situated in the heart of Lokoja Metropolis, Mentor Box is a conducive working environment designed to foster collaboration, innovation and creativity among Kogi State’s youth.
