Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu of Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly has congratulated Muslims on the celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Maulid in a statement released on Thursday evening.
The statement read in part, “I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters who are privileged to witness this year’s celebrations even as I want to use this opportunity to thank all the good people of Ojoku and Enjema for their unwavering support towards the success of my stewardship.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed his commitment towards fulfilling his promises and urged the people to put aside all prejudices in order to move the area forward stressing the need for fervent and sincere prayers across religion, political and ethnic divides in building a strong constituency.
“On this special day, I am appealing to all asunder to rise against the odds, keep our prejudices aside and strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity in order to move our constituency forward and better for the next generation” he said.
Speaking further, “as for Muslims all over the world, this celebration is to commemorate the birth of the Holy prophet and as we celebrate, I sincerely believe that humanity can make rapid progress in all areas if we re-enact the exemplary virtues of the Muhammad(peace be upon him) especially now that humanity is facing trials via human trafficking and slave trades as been witnesses in Libya”
He concluded by highlighting that the holy prophet had a direct message to mankind – obedience to Allah’s command and constituted authorities and so preached the need for us to see ourselves as brothers and sisters from the same heritage, Adam.
