Former New Nigeria Peoples Party governorship candidate in Kogi State, Alhaji Musa Mubarak Saliu, has called for unity, fairness and power rotation among the three senatorial districts of the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
Alhaji Mubarak, in a statement shared on social media, said Kogi East, Central and West remained equally important to the development of the state, urging politicians and citizens to “take one another along” irrespective of political differences.

He said he was prepared to support candidates from any political party based on competence, character, track record and capacity to deliver, particularly for the Senate and Idah Federal Constituency, where he said his preferred candidate would soon be unveiled.
However, Mubarak declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, saying, “when it comes to the presidency, my position is clear: I am 100% behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Mubarak was the NNPP governorship candidate in the 2023 Kogi election and has remained active in the state’s political space. He is also identified publicly as a businessman and entrepreneur.
Calling for political tolerance, he said power was not permanent and urged Kogi people to remember that “power is rotational”, while cautioning against treating political opponents unfairly.
His comments come as political calculations intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly over representation and power sharing among Kogi’s three senatorial districts.
