The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Land Matters and Olukoko Arolupotopoto of Ogidi Kingdom, Very High Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, will on Saturday flag off a large-scale empowerment and community outreach programme for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and residents of Igbolaere/Ilaere Ward across Ijumu Oke.

The event, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on September 12, 2026, at the Community Civic Centre in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area, is themed “Empowering Constituents for a Greater APC, a Better Ogidi Community and Ijumu Oke,” and is expected to benefit more than 300 people with cash grants, farm inputs and food items.

Chief Ipinmisho said the initiative was conceived not merely as a distribution of resources but as a demonstration of solidarity with residents and a reaffirmation of loyalty to the APC-led government at state and federal levels.

“This gathering is not just about sharing resources. It is about sharing hope. It is about reaffirming our commitment to the people who are the true strength of our party and our democracy,” he said.

Under the programme, deserving individuals will receive cash grants of 100,000 naira each to expand their trades and businesses, while more than 200 others, including beneficiaries from outside the ward, will get 50,000 naira each to cushion the effects of economic hardship. Several households at the grassroots will also receive bags of rice, alongside farm inputs meant to support local farmers and strengthen food security in the area.

Chief Ipinmisho used the occasion to commend Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for mobilising contractors back to the Asaya-Ogidi-Ayere road project, which he described as the economic lifeline of the community. He also thanked the governor for appointing him Special Adviser on Land Matters and for extending strategic appointments to other sons and daughters of Ogidi and Ijumu Oke, while urging that more qualified and loyal party members from the area be considered for future appointments.

The Special Adviser further called on party members to mobilise massively ahead of forthcoming elections, throwing his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ododo and Hon. Salman Idris at the federal level. He endorsed Hon. Femi Esemikose for Ijumu 1 and Rt. Hon. Tayo Adeleya Ishaya for Ijumu 2 in the Kogi State House of Assembly, and canvassed support for Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna as Ijumu Local Government Chairman and Hon. Musa Ipinmisho, Esq., as councillor for Igbolaere/Ilaere Ward.

“We must vote APC from top to bottom. From President to Governor, to House of Representatives, to State Assembly, to Chairman and Councillor. That is how we secure total victory and total development for our people,” he said, adding that sustained loyalty to the party would position an Okun son to become governor of Kogi State by 2032.

According to him, the programme is being funded through personal resources, business ventures and contributions from friends, associates and party leaders, including Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji and Dr. Femi Fashagba.

Party leaders, elders, women, youth, farmers and members of the general public have been invited to attend the event.
