Over some years ago, the road that links to Ohun and Ife-olukotun from Ekinrin Adde in Ijumu local government area of Kogi state has been left to rot by previous governments in the state.
The bad condition of this road has in no doubt aggravated poverty, inconveniences and uneasiness for the users of this road who have to transport themselves and their farm produce from the mentioned communities and their various farm to the market place.
However, after the present government of New Direction emerged, the Kogi state government, through the influence of Hon. Ade Omofaiye, the honorable member representing Ijumu constituency and Hon. Taufiq Isa, the administrator of Ijumu local government, the road was graded from Ekinrin adde to Ohun. This was flagged off by the state governor and all the facilitators.
As a matter of fact, during this raining season, the grading of this road has caused more harm than good for the
people of the above communities early mentioned.
For the government to totally soothe or assuage the suffering of the motorists, motorcyclists and those who ply the
road with their legs, I beg the government to as a matter of urgency reconstruct the road with asphalt overlay so that
the users of this can be totally convinced that the government is poised at bringing the dividends of democracy to her citizens. This will in no doubts give the routers more reasons to support the government in its endeavour to win
the heart of the populace.
We will be looking forward for the intervention of both the state government and the concerned representatives.
