It was indeed a wonderful and exciting weekend as residents of Lokoja metropolis gathered to celebrate and support a national and international award winning movie titled ‘Trapped.’
The movie premiere and launching which took place at Idrinana Hotels Lokoja, Kogi State, was dedicated to sons of the soil who died in active services and other fallen soldiers who have died in line of duty.
The producer, director and the script writer of the movie, Mr. Danjuma Sa’id emphasized that the movie Trapped is a short movie aimed at promoting the movie industry in the state and to recognize men and women armed forces in and out of service.
Presently, the movie is the first and only film made by a Kogi based film maker which will be included in the world’s most popular and authoritative source for rich, creative and quality TV and celebrity content (IMDB).
‘Trapped: no way out’ was nominated in the best short film category at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) 2016, the largest film festival in Africa, as well as other prestigious film festivals around the globe with the recent being the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) 2017 in Canada and The Nollywood Excellence Award 2017 to hold in Germany.
Deejay Sa’id is arguably the most successful filmmaker in Kogi State at the moment. He has also received invitations to be the Judge in different beauty pageant in the state, ranging from Miss Kogi, Miss Tourism, Face of Independence, Miss Independence and the likes.
He has been involved in many creative/entertainment/Hospitality services in the state, and has inspired quite a lot of creative minds; he recently organized a masterclass in Acting, Directing and Film production for filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers across the state.
Danjuma “Deejay” Sa’id is a multiple award winning creative filmmaker, the CEO of Deejayville Entertainment. Mr Deejay as he is fondly called hails from Bassa LGA of Kogi State, Nigeria. The Kaduna born Lokoja based creative captain has been able to carve a niche for himself and placed Kogi State on the world map in Filmmaking (Cinema) through the creativity, quality and originality of his works, he is now a force to reckon with home and abroad.
Deejay Sa’id has blown the minds of many with his creative cinematic approach to films, he released his first feature in 2014, BLOOD AND ROMANCE which got nominated in that year’s Abuja International Film Festival (AIFF), Eko International Film Festival (EkoIFF) and Best of Nollywood (BON) award in different categories from best director, best feature film, outstanding music, best indigenous language feature film.
He has since arrogated works to his credit, amongst which are cinema rated movies like NOSTALGIA, TWIST and PRAY FOR ME, Top notch music videos and TV commercials. He was part of the team that made the first ever one character Nollywood film starring Mercy Johnson “COBWEB”.
Danjuma is currently working on three promising movies which will be out later in the year, urging his supporters to watch out for a movie titled ‘Distress Call.’
He has recently organized a directing, producing and acting master class for aspiring filmmakers in the state and also arranged for an industry session where practicing filmmakers will gathered to interact with, top movie actors and the state government.
