Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Idris Asiwaju Asiru has cleared the air on the claims of non-payment of workers’ salaries in Kogi State.
While responding to a direct question from a Canada-based Kogi indigene, Mr. Ibraheem, on the Okun Economic Forum platform yesterday, Asiru confirmed that all cleared civil servants in Kogi state have been paid. He however noted that January 2017 salary is due and payment will soon commence.
In his words; “I swear to Allah in whose hand is my life ,we paid all cleared civil servants to date”.
Asiru assured Okun people oon the platform that Governor Yahaya Bello is in a hurry to develop Kogi West senatorial district.
He highlighted water and road projects ongoing in Kabba, Ijumu and Yagba as well as electricity projects embarked upon by the Yahaya Bello-led administration in Iyamoye, Ife-Olukotun and Ponyan all within the last 12 months as credible evidence to show the commitment of the state government to develop Kogi West.
“Governor told me that as soon as he finishes the nylon tar of our roads, he will be visiting us at least twice in a month”, he said.
“Watch out for full details after our visit to Omi with CBN team. This was the outcome of the meeting the Governor head with the CBN Governor yesterday.

 

“In addition, the design of the abandoned Kabba – Egbe road started last week. The Governor promised to work on that road. Let our representatives at the National Assembly push for the inclusion of that road in the budget. By this, we will be able to process refund of money we must have expended.

“I think that is what we need. And elders on this platform should talk to us when we are doing bad as government and also support us when we are doing good. It is God that put us here for a purpose.
“We are the first State to sign MOU with River Basin Development in Nigeria. And Gov Yahaya BELLO is the first to visit Omi Dam as Gov of Kogi State. And the same government is working towards multiple campuses of KSU.

“We are engaging 1000 Small Farm Holders. One of the investors, Jain Irrigation is partnering with the state govt. The value chain is key and beside that we are developing our own Commodity Exchange in conjunction with AFEX

“JAIN Irrigation is going to train them. Also we had engaged Onida Agriculture and Aquaculture solution Ltd. Please you can Google all these companies am mentioning, please. I have not even mention the SCPZ Alape. Let join hands together to develop Kogi State now.
Asiru called on and sundry in the zone to rally round the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his bid to develop Kogi state.
