A group known as Advocates of Democracy and Transparency, (ADT), has called on the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District to give their votes to the candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Kabiru Onimisi Idris Atta, in the rescheduled senatorial election.
The Chairman and Secretary of the group, Audu Ivaje and Sule Adavudi, respectively, said that with the coming of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi state, the area needed a vibrant representation in the upper legislative chamber.
According to the group, the area had suffered serious setback, deprivation and inadequate representation, noting that Atta, if elected, would effectively bridge help matters.
“Our land has not had adequate representation. We have not felt the presence of government at any level. We believe that Atta will effectively project and protect the interest of our people,” the ADT said.
It noted that the election of Atta will fast-rack development in the area, as well as provide a synergy between the state government, so as to attract the necessary federal presence to the area.
