Muhammad Bashir, Lokoja.
Stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress ( APC )  from Kogi West Senatorial District has called for a united effort by members from the zone to support Hon. James Faleke in his quest to actualise the Governorship mandate given to Prince Abubakar Audu and himself by Kogi people on November 21, 2015.
The stakeholders meeting which was held in Lokoja and was presided over by the Leader, Kogi West APC Stakeholders, Hon Umar Buba Jubril resolved to work with other well meaning stakeholders from the remaining Senatorial Districts in the State in order to maintain unity within the ranks.
The stakeholders resolved to continue mass enlightenment of the citizenry on the propriety of the Audu / Faleke team regaining the November 21, 2015 Governorship seat through the law courts as that that was the only way justice  could be seen to have been done.
Hon Buba who is the Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives called on the leadership of the APC  not to view the ongoing Tribunal case as an affront but rather consider it an opportunity to correct some perceived wrongs which could threaten unity within the party.
He urged stakeholders and members of the party to continue to pray for Hon Faleke to achieve victory at the Tribunal.
It will be recalled that the Audu / Faleke team of the APC had scored over 241,000 votes in the November 21, 2015 Governorship election in Kogi State against the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ), Governor Idris Wada who scored 199,000 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) however declared the election inconclusive and ordered a supplementary election in which a new candidate,  Yahaya Bello was brought in by the Leadership of the APC to replace Prince Abubakar Audu, the party’s candidate  who died.
Audu’s running mate, Faleke however kicked insisting he is the rightful person to replace Audu.
