Kogi Govt Restates Commitment to Equitable Distribution of Social Amenities

Kogi State Government has restated its commitment to the equitable distribution of social amenities to the people of Mopa and other communities in the state to boost their social economic potential.
The State Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi made the remarks at the 2015 Mopa Day celebration and project launching of Mopa Guest House second phase in mopa today.

 

Awoniyi said the present administration would continue to build on infrastructures such as roads upgrade hospitals , water supply among other amenities would be given priority by the administration.

 

The Deputy Governor added that the befitting palace for the Elulu of Mopa will be given adequate attention by Captain Wada led administration, and urged the people to support Wada’s reelection bid in the next governorship election.

 

He added that efforts are on top gear to ensure the completion of road from kabba Ilorin by the federal government soon.

 

Earlier in a welcome remarks, the chairman 2015 Mopa Day, Asiwaju Ayokanmi Olukanmi Joseph called on the people to continue to show love for another and for the progress of the community.

 

Asiwaju who quoted from George Bernard Show said people always blaming their circumstances for what they are added that the community needs to develop the intellectual moral capacity for competitive engagement in the political process with in the context of fair play envelope in justice as encapsulated in the land.

 

 

Also speaking, the President Mopa Welfare Society, Chief Olu Adeko commended captain Idris Wada and his deputy Yomi  Awoniyi for their contributions towards the completion of the mopa town hall and appealed for the provision of transformers to boost electricity in the area.

 

In her remarks the chairperson of Mopa Day, Chief Omotunde Elle Thompson appealed to state government to mainstream disability and elderly people in their programs and building codes for independence accessibility.
