The Senator representing Kogi west Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Hon. Dino Melaye has reportedly summoned the Electoral officers of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the Seven Local Government Area of Kogi West to a meeting where he promised to give each of them five million Naira ( N5M) if they can help him to change their initial position where their report suggest that the All Progressive Congress, APC did not conduct primary election to select their candidate for  Kogi West Senatorial district  for the March 28th general election.

According to a source close to Hon. Melaye, the self styled Anti Corruption crusader is also planning a press conference before Tuesday the 18th of August to discredit the recounting of ballot papers used for the election in the disputed 21 polling units where it was discovered that over 3,000 votes casted for PDP and other political parties who participated in the election  were invalidated and counted in favour of Hon. Dino Melaye a month after the exercise was conducted on the order of the tribunal.

Recall that we reported the massive alteration of the report sheet used for the election in favour of Hon. Melaye. Our source said he has tried to prevail on Hon. Dino Melaye not to get dirty in the defence of his seat at the National Assembly as his integrity will be shattered if details of his move get to the public.

The desperate move by Hon. Dino started when the appeal court sitting in Abuja ruled that primary election is a prerequisite for candidates to participate in the general election and the tribunal was wrong to have struck out the petition of the Peoples Democratic party for the house of Assembly election in Mopa Amuro, Hon. Eric Fiki against the acclaimed winner Hon. Abayomi Pedro Sunday claiming it was a pre-election matter.

Our source also gathered that, Hon. Hon Dino Melaye has been sending emissaries to Senator Smart Adeyemi legal team with the view to compromise them but they have consistently turned them down insisting that it is unethical to compromise against a client who has a good case and contacted them based on trust and confidence repose in them.
