A group under the aegis of Kogi New Agenda for Change 2015 (KNAC), has endorsed a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as its preferred candidate for the August 2015 primary election of the party.
Addressing a press conference in Lokoja at the weekend, the national co-ordinator of the group, Folorunso Olushola, said Bello was the only APC aspirant who had genuine concern for the development and growth of Kogi State.
Olushola, who lamented that the state which was created in 1991 had remained stagnant and underdeveloped when compared with other states in the country, said that with Bello’s track record, he would change the state for the better.
He said Bello would emerge victorious in the primary election slated for August this year, adding that the majority of delegates across the state are behind his aspiration to lead the state to prosperity.
“The future of our state would be better secured with Bello as the governor of the state. Kogi needs a younger, experienced and more vibrant person to lead the state in 2016, and Bello possesses these qualities,” he added.
