The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ogugu State Constituency, Hon. Michael Samuel Idoko, has congratulated the revered community leader and renowned philanthropist, Chief Nigeria Okpanichi (One Nigeria), on his coronation as the Odoma Ochogwu of Ogugu Land, describing the traditional honour as a fitting recognition of a lifetime devoted to humanity, communal advancement and selfless service.

In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Friday, Idoko said the ascension of Chief Nigeria Okpanichi to the prestigious traditional stool has brought immense joy, pride, and renewed hope to the people of Ogugu in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to the PDP flag bearer, the newly crowned Odoma Ochogwu has consistently demonstrated uncommon compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Ogugu Land through numerous humanitarian interventions that have positively transformed the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

“Today, I join the good people of Ogugu Land and well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating a worthy son of our soil, Chief Nigeria Okpanichi, on his coronation as the Odoma Ochogwu of Ogugu Land. This honour is not accidental; it is a deserved reward for decades of selfless service, community sacrifice, and steadfast dedication to the welfare of our people,” Idoko stated.

The PDP standard-bearer noted that Chief Okpanichi has remained a dependable pillar of support for the less privileged, youths, women, students, and other vulnerable members of society, adding that his philanthropic endeavours have restored hope and dignity to countless households across Ogugu and beyond.

Idoko further commended the monarch for deploying his resources, influence, and goodwill towards initiatives that promote education, communal harmony, youth empowerment, and sustainable social development.

“Chief Nigeria Okpanichi has touched innumerable lives through acts of kindness that often go unnoticed. He has become a beacon of hope to many and a shining embodiment of compassionate leadership. His doors have remained open to the people, and his heart has continually embraced the aspirations and challenges of the community,” he added.

He described the title Odoma Ochogwu as symbolic of courage, honour, wisdom, integrity, and service, expressing confidence that the new traditional ruler would utilise his exalted office to strengthen unity among the people, preserve the rich cultural heritage of Ogugu Land, and champion greater socio-economic development across the community.

Idoko also prayed for divine wisdom, sound health, longevity, and a peaceful reign for the monarch.

“As Your Royal Majesty ascends this exalted throne, I pray that Almighty God grants you wisdom, strength, sound health, and a peaceful reign. May your leadership usher in greater unity, prosperity, and enduring progress for Ogugu Land, and may future generations remember your reign as a golden era of service, peace, and transformation,” he said.

The colourful coronation ceremony attracted a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, cultural enthusiasts, and admirers from various parts of the country, and was marked by vibrant cultural displays, traditional rites, and widespread jubilation as the people formally installed Chief Nigeria Okpanichi (One Nigeria) as the Odoma Ochogwu of Ogugu Land.

Sam Idoko described the new monarch as a humble and visionary leader whose remarkable contributions to community development, human empowerment and social welfare have earned him admiration and respect far beyond the boundaries of Ogugu Land.
