The Kogi State government has assured commercial motorcycles operators, popularly called Okada, in the state that his administration would not ban them.
Governor Idris Wada, who spoke at the weekend when the state leadership of Nigeria Motorcycle Transport Union (NMTU) paid him a courtesy call, said his administration would do everything possible to assist them.
He said his administration did not have any intention of banning them, because the union is contributing to the development of the state.
Wada called on the union members to always conduct themselves peacefully and avoid actions that could tarnish their image.
Earlier, the state union chairman, Comrade Olaniyan Emmanuel Bamidele, assured the governor of their support.
