Youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency of Kogi State yesterday endorsed former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Jethro Funsho Oni, as the party’s candidate for the 2015 House of Representatives election for the constituency
In a press statement signed by their coordinator, Mr Zacheaus Dare Michael, a human right activist and Special Assistant to the governor on Conflict Resolution, the youths said that after deliberations over the chances of aspirants for the House of Representatives seat, it concluded that Oni was the best among the arrays of aspirants
The statement further stated that Oni, who represented Kabba- Bunu state constituency between 2007- 2011 in the state Assembly was accessible and a bridge builder between the old and the young generation in the constituency
They said: “Among the pack of aspirants, Oni stands shoulder high than all of them as he is a grass root mobiliser and a voice to the voiceless.
“His tenure as member of the House of Assembly witnessed tremendous developments in the area as he provided employment opportunities to scores of youths in the area, aside from providing empowerment to hundreds of women and youths in the constituency.
Urging all party leaders in the constituency to support Oni, the youths said they were sure that he would not disappoint the people of the area.
