The family of the late former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, have announced plans for his burial.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Ibrahim Idris, on behalf of the family, said the deceased’s remains would arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday.
According to the family, the Janazah prayer will hold at the Abuja National Mosque, after which he will be buried at the Gudu Cemetery, Abuja, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The family added that the burial arrangement is in line with the personal wish of the late former governor.
The family also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as well as other Nigerians, for their prayers and expressions of love since the news of his passing.
Idris governed Kogi State from 2003 to 2012.
