Speaking during his keynote address at the launching of the first professional text book written by NCAT Chief Instructor, Engr. Emmanuel Onwuka, the Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada who is also a pilot said by the virtue of the location of the college, it would be important for Northern governors to take a special interest in the college.
The governor who was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Investment, Alhaji Yusuf Alli, also urged other stakeholders, professionals, airlines and other companies in the sector to collectively support the college in a bid to continue to grow and improve its status.
He also challenged everyone to encourage the effort of the government at local content and nurture it till the country’s aviation becomes not only a key service hub, but a manufacturing hub in Africa.
He said, “I will like to use this occasion as well to invite all tiers of government, states and local governments particularly those in the North to partner with the college and promote the programmes in NCAT. By virtue of its location and proximity, the North should be at the forefront of sending students to NCAT for training.
“I will like to allay the fear and mistrust that is being created by those who are peddling the rumour that NCAT will be taken out of Zaria. Rather, the federal government should be commended for the investments it has continued to make in the college.”
