The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi, is set to host a town hall meeting for constituents of Lokoja/Koton-Karfe Federal Constituency, deepening his administration’s commitment to grassroots engagement and accountable representation.
The meeting, themed “Continuity for Sustainable Development in Kogi West Senatorial District,” is organized under the Win With Tinubu/Karimi (WWTK) Grassroots Mobilization Program and will provide constituents a direct platform to engage with their senator on legislative representation, youth and women empowerment, and social development initiatives shaping the future of Kogi West.
This latest engagement continues a deliberate, senatorial district-wide outreach that has already taken Sen. Karimi to Yagba Federal Constituency and Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, underscoring a consistent and hands-on approach to representation that few lawmakers in the state have matched.
According to a statement signed by Mrs Omoladun Asabe Baiye, Director, Strategic Communications, Media & Publicity (WWTK). the Lokoja/Koton-Karfe town hall, scheduled to hold at Kay Galaxy event centre in Lokoja on Monday, 24th August, is expected to draw a broad cross-section of stakeholders, including political leaders, party faithful, traditional and community leaders, and youth and women groups, all converging for what organizers describe as a constructive dialogue on continuity and sustainable development.
“Central to the meeting will be an account of stewardship, as Sen. Karimi presents his legislative interventions and achievements to constituents and receives direct feedback — a gesture reflecting his administration’s emphasis on transparency and responsiveness to the people he serves,” she said.
The WWTK spokesperson said the initiative reflects Sen. Karimi’s determination to ensure the dividends of democracy reach communities across Lokoja/Koton-Karfe, while reinforcing the value of sustained dialogue in identifying constituents’ needs and building stronger partnerships for development.
The WWTK Grassroots Mobilization Program has extended an open invitation to residents of Lokoja, Koton-Karfe, and Kogi West at large to take part in the dialogue, with party faithful, traditional rulers, professionals, and civil society groups encouraged to attend and contribute.
To widen its reach, the town hall will be broadcast live on Kogi Radio 94.1 FM, with additional avenues for participation via social media and phone calls — giving constituents across the federal constituency a direct opportunity to engage their senator and pose questions on legislative representation and sustainable development.
