Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress, under the auspices of Concerned APC Leaders, has issued a stern warning to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo and the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide to desist forthwith from misleading President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the viability of candidates chosen to represent the party for the National Assembly Elections in 2027.
The stakeholders who made this known in a press statement issued by its secretary, Hon. Mohammed Tijani in Lokoja on Monday stated that both Gov. Usman Ododo and Hon. Leke Abejide are known characters in the party who seek after their own personal and selfish interest as against the collective interest of the party in the state
The stakeholders stated that it is aware of several failed attempts by the duo to mislead President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on issues surrounding candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections in the state using dubious antics including the use of fake social media posts to deceive the President.
“For the avoidance of doubts, candidates already chosen to fly the party flags for the 2027 National Assembly Elections in the state are grass-rooted politicians with proven track record and achievements to deliver for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027,” the statement said.
The stakeholders appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to succumb to the deceitful antics of both the Governor and the lawmaker in order not to plunge the party into serious crises in the state, making it vulnerable for opposition parties to exploits.
