The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, says his office is always open to the people.

Speaking at the wedding ceremony of Sharon Amana and Gideon Abalaka at the Gospel Inn Auditorium, Ugwolawo, Ofu Local Government Area, on Saturday, Comrade Salifu said he is a Deputy Governor for everyone, especially the grassroots, adding that he was happy to identify with his people and share in their joy.

The Deputy Governor said the wedding occasion was very special to him.

He explained that Pastor Ameh Amana, the bride’s father, was the first person who handed him his appointment letter when he became a classroom teacher, while the bride’s mother was his classmate.

Comrade Joel Salifu also said that the groom’s father, Reverend. Elijah Abalaka, taught him how to sing which led to the release of his first gospel album.

He described the couple as his own children and thanked the parents for raising their children in the ways of God.

Comrade Joel prayed that the couple would be protected from all harm, prosper beyond their parents, and live in peace.

He also prayed that they would be blessed with children, both male and female, and that they would never lack the fruit of the womb.

Comrade Joel Salifu was accompanied by the Director General, Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Muhammed Nasiru Alfa; the Special Assistant to the Governor, Comrade Yahaya Adama; and other government officials.
