Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon, the Vice Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kogi state council, is not the everyday activist. He is a consummate advocate for the masses, a freedom fighter and a reasonable unionist.

Opaluwa, an official of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), is a vocal critic of bad governance and was one of the key figures in the #EndBadGovernance protests held in August 2024.

Aside being an active labour leader in Kogi state, Comrade Opaluwa has shown more than passing interest in issues that affects the common man across the state. His voice has been loud on dilapidated infrastructures, insecurity, workers’ welfare and governance.

A PhD student, Criminology and Security Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria, Comrade Opaluwa has continued to contribute to the body of knowledge, adding new value to his field of study through original research and novel methodologies.

The former Kogi State Coordinator of Red Card Movement, Comrade Opaluwa is an unrepentant advocate for good governance, constantly demanding transparency and accountability from public officials.

As Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon marks his 52nd birthday today, it is worth mentioning that the irrepressible activist still has more to offer.
