In our milleu, politics and by extension ‘politicking’ is not meant for the feeble – mind. For one to be reckoned with as a politician, you must have the shock – absorber to contain all sorts of theatrics – name – calling, character assassination, blackmail, pull – him – down, venomous attacks, falsehood, campaign of calumny etc.

Though, all these are not what the electorate expected from their political leaders, but unfortunately, it is part of our political culture.

In less than 24 months, with no exaggeration, Hon. (Arc) Idris Salman (FNIA), Kabba -Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency (APC, Kogi) has surpassed expectations and he is unrepentant in his resolve to facilitate more employment opportunities, road maintenance and re-construction, provision of potable water, mechanised agriculture, rural electrification and connection to the national grid, food incentives and palliatives, monetary support to organisations, associations and individuals, facilitation of health care delivery etc.

We must also come to terms with the fact that his primary responsibility is to legislate laws that has direct compass on constituents and by extension Nigerians. He has done brilliantly in his legislative capacity, no doubt.

Recently, as part of his oversight functions as a lawmaker, he paid a courtesy visit to the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Abuja,.

This is in continuation of his strategic engagement with MDA’s with the objective of national drive drive for skills development and clean mobility for Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Constituents.

For the non partisan reading public, his conversation with the head of the agency also centred on the urgency to scale – up local capacity and equipping people of his dear constituency in his quest for technologically driven local economy.

This is a welcome development in Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency. At least, our technologically inclined youths will be the direct beneficiaries of this synergization.

It then calls for worry, why some perceived political opponents rushed to the social media space to discredit what is intended to create, develop and expand our fortune.

From the information garnered from NADDC, ‘ a notable indigene of Kogi State’ , who prefers anonymity had earlier on conversed with the agency for the establishment of a CNG & EV Charging Centre at Kogi State University, Kabba.

In continuation, ‘ today’s meeting with Hon. Salman serves as a follow – up to that initial conversation, strengthening the framework for collaboration and ensuring continuity of vision.’

For people who should be able to read between the lines, the above information should have been a recipe for what really transpired for all discerning minds.

Well, it is understandable, politics is at play!

For the doubting Thomases, Hon. Arc Idris Salman is characteristically unperturbed as events enveloped as par the CNG Conversation imbroglio. Truth, they say, is immutable!

As usual, he is resolute, committed, passionate and focused on efforts geared towards facilitating sustainable and people – friendly development strides to Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency, irrespective of the pull – him – down antics, orchestrated by perceived political opponents as 2027 electioneering campaign beckons.

For those of us, who are keen watchers of the lofty and laudable achievements of Hon. Idris Salman, it is pertinent to say, without any equivocation that – one good term surely deserves another!
