Hon Adabenege Commissions Hajia Sefinat Ododo Shopping Complex, Legislative Bus in Lokoja

Kogi State Auditor-General for Local Government; Hon. Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka, on Monday commissioned a shopping complex named after the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo in Lokoja.

The shopping complex and a legislative bus were projects put in place by the Chairman, Lokoja, local government council, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu.

The Auditor-General commended the effort of Comrade Adamu for the thoughtfulness and commitment to ensuring that the project is not abandoned.

During the unveiling of the shopping complex, Hon. Adabenege thanked the Chairman and his team for honouring and immortalizing the first lady with such an edifice.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Farouk who was a former HOD and DLG in Lokoja Local Government, described the Chairman as a performer who the local government is proud to have at the helm of affairs.

While presenting the bus to the Council Leader, Hon. Muhammed Hauwa Teni, the Commissioner expressed his happiness that the local government has grown in leaps and bounds since Comrade Abdullahi Adamu assumed office.

In the welcome address, Comrade Adamu thanked the dignitaries for honouring the invitation. He stated that, his administration is doing everything it can not only to secure the local government but to improve her fortunes.

“I am glad to inform you that these lock-up shops project was started by the late Chairman, Mohammed Danasabe Mohammed and today we have completed and ready to put it to use.

“We have also been able to refurbish and bring back to life the Council’s Legislative Bus that was once grounded to ease the movements and activities of our legislative council,” he said.

He noted that under his watch, Lokoja Local Government will continue to create more revenue generating opportunities as well as the welfare of its workers.

After the commissioning, the dignitaries led by the local government Chairman took a tour of the local government secretariat.
