As 2027 approaches, the noise is rising louder, more desperate, more predictable. Old political actors are rebranding, failed ambitions are being repackaged, and propaganda is in full swing. But beneath all the theatrics, one stubborn truth refuses to disappear:
There is no alternative to Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu. None.
Not among the habitual contenders who have mastered the art of losing.
Not among the recycled power brokers who thrive on nostalgia.
Not among the armchair critics who mistake empty rhetoric for leadership.
Leadership is not about volume, it is about courage. It is not about promises, it is about decisions. And when history called in 2023, Asiwaju Tinubu did not blink.
He met a nation burdened by decades of economic deception and distortion, crippling subsidy fraud, reckless fiscal practices, and a dangerously bloated debt profile. Where others would have postponed the inevitable, he chose confrontation over convenience.
Fuel subsidy ? Removed.
Exchange rate illusion ? Dismantled.
Revenue leakages ? Tackled head on.
These were not crowd pleasing decisions. They were nation saving ones. And that is the difference between a statesman and a politician.
While others would have clung to deception for applause, Tinubu chose truth. While others would have sustained a broken system for political survival, he chose reform.
Nigerians are feeling the strain. Asiwaju never deny that.
But here is the inconvenient truth the opposition cannot sell: No nation fixes decades of sabotage with comfort policies.
Pain was inevitable. Collapse was optional.
President Tinubu chose to avert collapse.
And now, slowly but surely, the signs are emerging. The economy is recalibrating. Revenues are improving. Investor confidence is inching back. The foundation is being rebuilt, deliberately, methodically, sustainably.
Not by slogans. Not by sentiment. But by policy.
And that is precisely what unsettles the opposition.
They know they cannot replicate it.
They have no credible track record. No proven courage. No coherent vision. What they offer instead is a tired script; loud promises wrapped in selective amnesia.
The same figures who presided over years and decades of national decline now posture as messiahs. They speak of change as though they were not architects of the dysfunction they now condemn.
It is deception, plain and simple. But Nigerians are by far wiser now.
2027 will not be a contest of noise. It will be a referendum on substance, courage versus convenience, reform versus regression, truth versus illusion.
When that moment comes, the choice will not be complicated: Stay the course of necessary reform…
Or return to the failed comforts of the past.
There is no middle ground.
There is no credible substitute.
There is no alternative.
There is only APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
