The Senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Yakubu Oseni has reacted to the recurring calls of students and pupils from his constituency to return to the National Assembly come 2023.
Pupils from across the five local government areas of Kogi Central had during the commissioning of the lawmaker’s constituency projects unanimously demanded his continuity at the Red Chamber, citing his various legacy projects especially in the area of sustainable education.
An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Kogi Central, Hon. AbdulMalik Abdullahi, popularly known as Malik Standard who witnessed the commissioning event had remarked that it was a historical event especially the moment the entire students and pupils of Kogi Central senatorial district asked Governor Yahaya Bello to tell Senator Yakubu Oseni to come for second term so as to harvest more of the dividends of democracy attracted to the constituency.
He said; “It is indeed unprecedented democratic gains for Kogi Central if within three years, Senator Oseni has been able to digitalized over 12 schools, constructed and renovated over 10 schools across Kogi Central and provided 600 capacity JAMB CBT Centre in Okene to take away the risk of traveling far to write JAMB and other computer based assessments.
“These are even aside other infrastructural development across Kogi central, like skill acquisition centres, boreholes, transformer and roads constructions.”
However, while responding to the calls which have continued to resonate days after the projects commissioning, Senator Yakubu Oseni who appreciated the students/pupils for their show of love and solidarity said the future belongs to Almighty Allah.
“I was indeed overwhelmed by the various calls to throw my hat in the ring for Kogi Central Senatorial Seat. I appreciate you all especially the school children for the show of love. However, let me use this opportunity to remind you that the future belongs to Almighty Allah who gives power to whomever He deems fit,” he said.
The lawmaker further reiterated his unwavering resolve to impact positively on his people within available resources, noting that their support and prayers have been his source of strength over the years.
