2023 Polls: APC Campaign Council Engage Ijumu Local Govt Staff, Organised Groups

The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council in Ijumu local government of Kogi state has called on the electorate to troop out en mass on Saturday and ensure they cast their votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

A former Chairman of Ijumu LGA, Funsho Olumoko, made the call during the campaign council engagement with local government staff and organised groups in Iyara on Monday.

Addressing a well attended rally organised by the APC campaign council to showcase its candidates contesting the election, Olumoko, who doubles as the Director-General, Ijumu APC Campaign Committee, described Tinubu as a detribalised Nigerian who has the capacity and experience to lead Nigeria to a great height.

Olumoko charged the group not to give PDP the opportunity to come back and re-claim the power they lost because of their sixteen years of mis-rule where hunger, insecurity and unemployment was the order of the day.

The Director-General said Ijumu and Okun Nation have a lot to benefit from the government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, if elected, and warned them not to miss the golden opportunity await them in the incoming government.

He assured them that the government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would create jobs for teeming unemployed youth and create wealth for the people, both young and old.

He charged them to come out en-mass and vote overwhelmingly for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates. 

Also addressing the rally, Hon. Taufiq Isa, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area and Chairman Kogi state ALGON, appealed to the groups to vote for APC in all election, stressing that APC must win the election if the people want to get it right.

Hon. Taufiq described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a tested and trusted politician who has love for humanity.

The Kogi state ALGON Chairman noted that Tinubu will fight insecurity, corruption, provide jobs and provide infrastructure to all nooks and crannies of Nigeria if elected and warned the people not to involve in anti-party activities as such would not help them at the short and long run.

The APC candidates for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and Ijumu House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole and Hon. Omotayo Ishaya respectively, assured the groups of dividends of democracy if elected.

In their responses, the organised group leaders assured them that they will vote for APC and thanked both Hon. Olumoko and Hon. Taufiq for their leadership style which they noted has put smile on the faces of the people of the local government.

Staunch party members including Hon. Ade Ismael, Chief Cornelius Olowo, Barr. Lewis Asubiojo, Alhaji Shuaib Ipinmisho, Otunba Fabumi Babs, Hon. Funsho Haruna, Vice Chairman, Ijumu LGA, Ijumu Council leader, Councilors, Supervisory councilor, Ijumu APC executive were at the rally.

Highlight of the rally was cultural display from different cultural group and good will messsges from group leaders.
