2019: Ndako Gets Kakanda Endorsement for Second Term

The executive members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kakanda Ward of Lokoja local government area, Kogi State on Monday gathered at the Felele residence of Alhaji Ibrahim Chata to endorse the member representing Lokoja 2 constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Idris Ndako, for another second term in office.

The APC Ward Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Chata, who spoke on behalf of the members cited the unprecedented infrastructure development, job creation policies and all-inclusive governance structure, among other laudable initiatives of the Lawmaker as the reasons for the overwhelming decision to support him for re-election in 2019.

He further said: “We have repeatedly said it. Today, we are celebrating the unprecedented infrastructure development by Hon. Idris Ndako.

“Today is meant for the endorsement of Ndako for second term so that whoever is planning to come out to contest the house of assembly election in 2019, our Ward leaders and members are saying it loud and clear that there is no vacancy in the state assembly.

In his remarks, the APC Ward secretary, Isah Abdulsalam, who received the endorsement plaque from Chata noted that ” Kakanda Ward is a very important division of the constituency and is home for the Hon. Ndako. The division is proud of the sterling performance of the Lawmaker, hence our massive support and endorsement”.

The secretary said the advantage in this endorsement is that Ndako would know that the social contract with the people had been redoubled, and such would spur him to perform beyond ordinary level of excellence.

Also speaking, Aisha Yusuf, woman leader, said the Lawmaker has brought finesse to governance.

He further posited that the achievements of Ndako in all sectors and sections of the constituency are evident for all to see.

He said the people of the Kakanda Ward are united and committed to the second term of Ndako to continue his good works in the area.

“Hon. Ndako has done so well in every sector and I am sure he still has a lot to do for the constituency. He has impressed us and the best way we can keep enjoying what we are enjoying now is to re-elect the lawmaker for a second term,” the Secretary stated.

Is his response, the lawmaker thanked the APC executive members for endorsing for a second term promising to do more for the constituency as soon as the finances of the state improves.

On the poor of Jamata-Owara-Budan-Abugi road, he said, “ as a representative of this constituency, I have severally drawn the attention of the state government to the deplorable. This road has been featuring on the state budget since 2009, without being rehabilitated.

“But with the administration of Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, I am very optimistic that the road will soon be given the desired attention,” he assured.

Recent periods have recorded harvest of endorsements for the second term bid of Hon. Idris Ndako. What would be considered as the height of these endorsements is the endorsement by the people of Oworo Ward. This reverses the frequently quoted scripture that” a prophet is without honour except in his home town”.

It will be recalled that stakeholders, chieftain and the local government leaderships of the APC in the constituency recently in a town hall meeting with the Ndako endorsed the lawmaker’s bid to continue in office beyond 2019.
