A prominent Yagba interest advocate, Comrade Temitope Olufemi Daniel has called on leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure the next Kogi West senator emerge from Yagba federal constituency in 2023.

Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, Temitope decried the unfair treatment meted on Yagba people through continued denial to represent Kogi West in the senate.

Temitope stated that Yagba people are not slaves to Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency and will no longer settle for second fiddle roles.

He appealed to PDP leaders to make it a top priority as activities rev up ahead of 2023 general elections.

He warned that any political leader from Yagba land who betray their collective agitation and support candidates from Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency would be treated as a traitor and prosperity would judge such a leader and his children.

“Their children will eat from the same fruit of betrayals in the future.

“It is on record that Senator Tunde Ogbeha took the path of honour by stepping aside and allowing the senate seat to rotate to Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in 2007.

“It is however surprising and disappointing that the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu PDP leaders have shown greed with the senate position, a signal that the PDP is merely displaying the same attributes of selfishness and the party might be toeing the part of doom and self-destruction if there is any further attempt to retain the senate seat in the same federal constituency without following the path of honour by allowing Yagba people to present their son for the position,” he said.

Comrade Temitope stated that If PDP is serious with their desire to come back to power in 2023 they should consider and support the clarion call of the Yagba people for Senate.
