2019 Elections: Okene Administrator, Ohi of Okene, Traditional Rulers Hold Crucial Meeting

As we count down to the 2019 general elections, the need to involve relevant stakeholders and traditional rulers on the peaceful conduct of the election in Okene Local Government and indeed Ebiraland necessitated the meeting to strategize and ensure all hands are on deck for a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere before, during and after the elections.

Addressing the traditional rulers, elders and critical stakeholders amongst whom were the former Chairmen of Okene Local Government, Alh. Yakubu Yusuf, presently the Ohi of Okengwe/Okene and Alh. Nasiru Soso, Okene Local Government Administrator, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad thanked the stakeholders for their interest to maintain peace and order in Okene Local Government.

The council boss maintained that, as the chief security officer of the local government area, he has put machinery in place to ensure a peaceful environment for the election.

He stated that, on his part and on behalf of his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), he has operated with decorum and will sustain the tempo during and after the election.

He assured the stakeholders of government resolve to deploy enough security agents to secure lives and properties during and after the elections and pleaded to all candidates and electorates irrespective of political parties and partisan affiliations to be peaceful and play by the rules of electoral engagement.

Hon.  Abdulrazaq however defended the choice of APC candidates and listed reasons why they should be supported for the Presidency, Senate, House of Reps and House of Assembly seat.

He posited that said their mandates will help consolidate the good work of President Muhammad Buhari and Gov. Yahaya Bello at both the national and state levels respectively.

The Administrator thereafter gave out security hotlines to the stakeholders and urged them to be vigilant and report to him in case of trouble during or after the election.
