10,000 Athletes to Participate in 2018 Public Service Game in Kogi

No fewer than 10,000 contingents are expected to participate in the 2018 Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) in Kogi State.
The National President of (FEPSGA), Comrade Aloku Amaebi disclosed this in a pre-games seminar in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Amaebi noted that the contingents will be participating in 16 competitive games adding that the 36 States of the Federation are expected to participate but professional are not allowed in the competition.
He also went further to state that the 37th edition of the tournament will feature over 70 ministries, departments and extra ministerial departments.
According to him: “The Professionals should be at the annual National Sport Festival. This game is for only public servants. I am sure Kogi State is prepared for this competition.
“The annual Public Service game is just one of the cardinal activities of the federation of Public Service game. We have other range of activities that takes place on monthly basis.
“But all those activities will terminate with the annual public service game which is the last activity for the year. The essence of the annual (FEPSGA) is to ensure that civil servant are physical fit, mentally healthy, to face their challenges in the office.
“It is not a razz mataz, it is something that the benefit should be derived in terms of your productivity in the service.”
Comrade Amaebi assured that all necessary arrangements has been put in place to receive all contingents from Abuja and other parts of the country from Wednesday 5th December, 2018.
“This is the first time Kogi State is hosting this tournament. Governor Yahaya Bello has assured FEPSGA that all the facilities will be in good state and adequate security will also be provided. We are here in Lokoja and it is central in our mind that our stay in this place will be fruitful.
“By the time we leave, every average Kogite is expected to feel the impact of the 2018 FEPSGA because it a way of investment. It will boost the economy of the State because all federal workers are coming in. I really appreciate the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for this good and laudable initiative” he added.
The 37th edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) is billed to commence on 5th December and end on 15th December 2018.
The 36th edition was hosted by Bauchi State in 2017.
