Alhaji Yakubu Oseni Receives New KIRS Boss

After due consultations, Kogi State Government recently approved the appointment of Mall. Nda Aliu Salami as the new Executive Chairman of Kogi Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).
The former Executive Chairman of the Service, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni had in accordance to the directive of Governor Yahaya Bello resigned his appointment in August in the build up to the All Progressives Congress Senatorial primary election which he emerged victorious.
While playing host to the new Executive Chairman in his  Lokoja residence, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni reiterated how sensitive the service is to the implementation of the lofty ideas embedded in the New Direction agenda of Governor Yahaya Bello, a reason which according to him necessitated the thorough consultations before the recent appointment.
The former chairman profusely recounted the series of technical and structural reforms which culminated in granting KIRS its full autonomy for optimum performance and delivery.
While charging his successor on diligence, commitment and professionalism in tax administration, Alhaji Oseni revealed that his regime through hardworking team, was able to raise the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from paltry N350 million to N1 billion monthly with prospects of increment.
Responding, Mall. Salami who appreciated the resilience of his predecessor; Alhaji Oseni, pledged to build on the legacies he bequeathed to him.
Mall. Salami also pleaded with the former Executive Chairman not to hesitate in giving him suggestions and advice on how to further raise the IGR benchmark of the state.
It would be recalled that Alhaji Yakubu Oseni resigned as the Executive Chairman of KIRS to contest the Senatorial primary election of his party, APC which he subsequently won.
