The Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign, on Wednesday, received a significant boost following the endorsement of the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe.

The Commissioner also pledged the full support of the ministry toward the successful implementation of the initiative across the state.

During the engagement, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta presented a detailed briefing on the campaign, outlining its core objectives and the urgent need to address the rising involvement of young people in internet-related fraud. He also highlighted practical areas where the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development can provide support, particularly in mobilizing young people, facilitating access to institutions, and strengthening grassroots awareness.

The campaign team noted that this collaboration with the Ministry is expected to strengthen outreach efforts, especially within schools and youth groups, while also encouraging positive alternatives that promote responsible digital engagement and lawful means of livelihood among young people.

In his response, the Commissioner expressed his willingness to collaborate closely with the campaign team. He acknowledged that many of those involved in such activities fall within the youth population, stressing the importance of early engagement, reorientation, and sustained advocacy. He assured the team that the ministry would play an active role in ensuring the campaign reaches communities across the state.

Also present at the meeting were Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant on Private Education Institutions, and Hon. Favor Avosuahi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Trafficking, both of whom lent their support to the discussions and the broader objectives of the campaign.
