Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has endorsed the Administrator of Okene local government area, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad as the next executive chairman of the Council
Bello gave the endorsement during a thank you visit to the governor by Eziogu clan of Ebiraland.
“I consulted nobody on the surface of earth before you were appointed as Administrator of Okene Local Government, you are a respectable, capable and fine gentleman, you have the political base to win elections yet you kept to your promise.
“There is a sharp difference between your administration and the past because under your watch, Okene Local government had witnessed peace, tranquillity and progress. You have performed well during this period of probation and by God’s grace, you will transform from Administrator to Executive Chairman of Okene Local government”, he said.
Earlier, in an address delivered by an erudite scholar and academician, Dr Mike Ogirima said Eziogu clan from far and near were at the government house to express their profound gratitude to the governor for appointing their sons, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad and others into various positions in the new direction government.
He assured the Governor of their total support and loyalty to his government and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Ohi of Eganyi and the Ozumi of Okene prayed for the continued well-being of the governor and the people of Kogi state.
They said Eziogu clan are politically active, loyal and committed to a believed struggle and have never been found to have betrayed such in history.
“Your Excellency, you have given us good tidings, you have shown us love and we believe in our capacity. We will surely surprise you with love and absolute loyalty”
The Director General, Information and Grassroot Sensitization, Hon. Abdulmalik Abdulkareem thanked the governor on behalf of all state appointees of Ogu extraction, while the Administrator of Okene Local government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad delivered the vote of thanks.
Engr. Abdulrazaq expressed his immense gratitude to the governor, whom he described as Al-Amin (the promise keeper) and a worthy boss. He promised to continue to justify the confidence reposed in him by working for the people and deliver the real dividends of democracy to the people of Okene Local government.
“Today, you have again endorsed me to become the Executive Chairman of Okene Local government, indeed,
you are a promise keeper”, he said.
Thousands of Eziogu youths, women, elders, academicians and traditional rulers from far and near attended the occasion.
