Ahead of the forthcoming 2019 general elections, a lot of aspirants jostling for the Kogi Central senatorial district have already thrown their hats into the ring. But when searching for a credible, dynamic, focused, eloquent, vibrant, versatile, purposeful, and tested philanthropist among the aspirants today, honourable Alhaji Oseni Yakubu is one man that fits the bill.
The amiable Banker turned Politician is presently the result oriented executive chairman of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service. He is a man of the people to the core. After much intense pressure from stakeholders, various groups, party faithful, and individuals, the youthful new breed politician has finally accepted to contest in the forthcoming general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Political pundits and generality of the people have observed that Alhaji Oseni has demonstrated over the years that he has sterling qualities of a role model in selfless and purposeful leadership.
His antecedents and pedigree in the private and public service have marked him out as a befitting and worthy politician to step into the big shoes left behind in Kogi Central by the legendary Senator A. T. Ahmed of blessed memory.
He is a man of proven integrity and high credibility who has the wherewithal to give Kogi Central the much needed effective and responsive representation at the National Assembly if given the mandate in 2019 general elections.
Alhaji Oseni is one personality imbued with the Midas touch. He has a track record of remarkable achievements in the private and public sectors. The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service under his watch was able to increase the State’s IGR from 300 million naira to over 1 billion naira monthly and employed over 500 indigenes of the state into the revenue service under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Executive Governor of Kogi State.
This remarkable achievement was partly because Alhaji Oseni has shown the attributes of a team player and results-oriented leader.
His philanthropic activities cut across youth and women empowerment, scholarship to indigent students, needy individuals, and religious bodies over the years.
Alhaji Oseni who has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Abuja has won many awards and laurels for his academic excellence and philanthropic activities.
He is a member of several professional bodies such as ACA- ANAN, ACITN, FICEN- Fellow Institute of chartered economics of Nigeria, and FNIM- Fellow Nigerian Institute of Management.
Against this background, therefore it is safe to conclude that the good people of Kogi Central have finally found a messiah that can change the narrative of our poor representation in the National Assembly under this democratic dispensation.
