Yahaya Bello Formally Declares for 2023 Presidency, Promises to Unite, Secure Nigerians

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has officially joined the 2023 Presidential race.

Bello officially declared his decision to run for the Presidency on Saturday at Eagle Square in Abuja.

His declaration laid to rest speculations surrounding him running for the Presidency in 2023.

While noting that achieving security, unity and peace in a large difficult terrain like Kogi State which has remained a positive reference, he promised to replicate same in Nigeria when elected.

If elected as president, Bello promised to fight the age long farmers-herders clashes, ethnic clashes and promised to dismantle of age long challenge that has retarded the country from witnessing growth and development.

He added that his excellent record in managing diversity ad governor, would enable him run a country with inclusiveness making the country, irrespective of tribe, religion, age in ensuring fair and equitable distribution of appointments and resources.

The APC presidential aspirant promised to create 20 million millionaires by the year 2030 using the South East model of apprenticeship.

“I am running for president because I see a bright light shining at the end of the tunnel for our nation. I am not one of those who only see doom and glue. It is my intention to take custody of that light to pierce the dark spot in our past and present by eliminating every gap in our nationhood and fixing them,” he said.

While he listed the achievement of 35% affirmative action for women to be included in governance in the state as governor, he said he will apply more empathy in governance in recruitment and distribution of resources.

The governor assured of empowerment for Nigerians if elected by ensuring that no one is made to think they are inferior, insisting that leadership can lead one to stand alone.

He said in the course of building a virile nation he would do all that is needed to improve the living condition of Nigerians.

The governor said his youthfulness which is a factor that would enhance his performance, assured that he is physically and mentally fit to lead Nigeria to prosperity.

The declaration ceremony was attended by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, Kogi State Deputy governor, Edward Onoja and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode among others.

Daughter of the presumed winner of the June 1993 presidential election, late Moshood Abiola, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, was named the Director-General of the Yahaya Bello presidential campaign.

Speaking, Zwingina described the Presidential aspirant as a detribalized Nigerian, who governs Kogi with appointees from other states.

Stressing that Nigeria needs Bello as a President, Zwingina noted that the “governor uprooted insecurity from Kogi, the state would have been a breeding ground for kidnapping and banditry, but for his leadership skills.”
