Yagba West: Group Inaugurates 200 Canvassers for All APC Candidates, Launch ‘Operation Sweep It Up 2023’

A group, D’ Mandate, consisting of young elites and volunteers from Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State who are sympathetic to candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections, at the weekend, launched what it termed “Operation Sweep it All”. 

The fulcrum of the launch, which held at Egbe, the commercial nerve centre of Yagba West LGA, was the selection and inauguration of 200 canvassers spread across all the polling units in the 14 electoral wards in the LGA.

According to the group “Operation Sweep it Up” translates to delivering all the available elective posts to the APC within the local government. 

Meanwhile, the canvassers are expected to work between now and the end of the general election in March 2023.

The group, “D’ Mandate” also volunteered to take care of the monthly bill of those engaged in the canvassing. While the canvassers are expected to woo voters to ensure a clean sweep for the APC in Yagba West LGA.

The group assured of working for the APC from top to bottom in all elections.

The candidates in focus and whose billboards and souvenirs were on display at the colourful ceremony held at St. John’s Primary School, Egbe, are Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate; Hon. Sunday Steve Karimi, Kogi West senatorial district candidate; Engr Folorunsho Olafemi, Yagba Federal constituency candidate and Erelu Yemisi Oshaloto, Yagba West State House of Assembly Constituency.

Spokesman for the group, Mr Odebola Odeyemi, urged all the canvassers to justify the confidence reposed in them.

He disclosed that supervisors have also been engaged to monitor their activities and make changes when necessary.
