The campaign council for the House of Representative candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Yagba Federal constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide says it has uncovered overt and covert plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to intimidate, arrest and harm their supporters.

In a statement issued by the campaign spokesperson, Shola Abel, the campaign said it has been reliably informed of security threats against Abejide and his supporters in Yagba land.

The campaign council said Kogi State Government, Kogi State Governor and Kogi APC should be responsible should any harm happen to Leke Abejide, his reelection campaign council and supporters.

“We gathered reliably that the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is planning to put our supporters in harm’s way.

“Kogi State APC has most especially tagged the supporters of Elder Leke Abejide and has plans to harm them. They are compiling names of our teaming supporters of Hon. Leke Abejide within and outside the ADC, APC and PDP, with plans to intimidate, attack, kidnap and harass them.

“These intimidation and harassment are plans to scare away our supporters and disenfranchise them.

“We call on the Federal Government be aware of these threats and ensure no harm must happen Hon. Leke Abejide and his supporters within ADC and other political party,” the statement said.

The ADC campaign council, however, urged supporters not to panic but feel free to carry out their democratic rights without fear.
