For 24 years of democracy, Mopamuro Local Government has paid its dues to Yagba Federal Constituency. We have voted. We have mobilized. We have waited. We respected the initial rotational arrangement, Yet when projects are sited, when federal appointments are shared, when federal presence is negotiated, Mopamuro is told to “wait for its turn.”

2027 is not just another election year for Mopamuro. It is a referendum on equity. It is our chance to end years of second-class treatment in our own constituency. It is our chance to back a man who has Mopamuro and Yagba in his blood, in his record, and in his plan.

Why Dayo Akande Stands Tall Across Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro

He Is Pan-Yagba, Not a Sectional Candidate

Dayo Akande was born to Yagba. His relationships cut across Isanlu, Egbe, Odo-Ere, Mopa, Amuro, and every ward in between. He has built relationships, funded scholarships, and supported traders in all 3 LGAs long before politics. He does not need a map to locate Mopamuro. He has dined and wined with his people here.

Competence Over Noise

Yagba does not need another “Honorable” who learns on the job. We need a rep who knows how Abuja works from day one. Chief Akande served in the administration of Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada, where he was exposed to governance, budget processes, and inter-governmental relations. He understands MDAs, constituency projects, and how to move files from proposal to commissioning. That is experience you cannot buy with billboards.

Legacy of Service, Not Entitlement

Leadership runs in his veins, but service is his choice. His father, a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, laid a foundation of humility and accessibility. That legacy opened doors, but Dayo Akande walked through them to work. From youth empowerment to farmers’ cooperatives, he has spent several years doing the work of a rep without the title. Mopamuro knows him not by posters, but by impact.

Acceptable Across Party Lines

Market women, Youths in Mopamuro keep saying the same thing: “Dayo no be stranger.” ADC, APC, PDP, people are tired of party. They want person. And across board, Dayo Akande is sellable because his name is not tied to betrayal, defection, or abandoned projects. He is the candidate Yagba needs to unite.

His Antecedents: Tested in Government, Trusted by the People

During the Idris Wada administration, Chief Dayo Akande was part of the governance structure that prioritized rural development, civil service reform, and youth enterprise. Those who worked with him describe a man who was meticulous, loyal, and deeply pro-people. He learned governance not from Twitter, but from the situation room.

He saw how budgets are defended. He saw how federal-state partnerships are negotiated. He saw how a memo becomes a road. That is the knowledge Yagba needs in Abuja now. Not another learner but A doer.

And yes, his father served Kogi as Deputy Governor. That office taught him two things: first, that power is for service; second, that Mopamuro has always been central to the Yagba story. That history matters. Because a man who knows where he comes from will not forget Mopamuro when he gets to Abuja.

Mopamuro, This Is Personal

For many years, we have been told “Yagba is one.” But when it was time to share, we got leftovers.
For 8 years, we heard “empowerment.” But our graduates still have no jobs.
For years, we were loyal. But loyalty without results is slavery.

Chief Dayo Akande is not asking Mopamuro for a favor. He is offering Mopamuro a partnership.

2027 Is Mopamuro’s Election that will change Yagba’s story

Yagba East has had its turn. Yagba West has had its turn. Mopamuro cannot wait another 12 years.

Mopamuro, let us not fight ourselves. Let us not be divided by rice and Ankara. Let us be united by purpose.

When you enter that ballot box in 2027, remember:
Equity is not begged. Equity is voted.
Progress is not promised. Progress is demanded.
