World AIDS Day: Kogi Education Commissioner Assures KOSACA of Effective Collaboration

Kogi State Ministry of Education has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Kogi State Agency for Aids (KOSACA) towards the commemoration the 2024 World Aids Day.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Hon Wemi Jones, gave the assurance when the Ag. Executive Secretary of (KOSACA), Ibrahim Anate, led a team to an advocacy visit to the ministry on Friday in Lokoja.

Jones, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Jibrin Saidu, said they would collaborate and do whatever that is needed to curb the spread of HIV and assist those living with the disease.

According to him, any role that would be required for the successful commemoration of the day, the ministry would not hesitate to do it.

He described the agency’s work as a humanitarian services, stressing that any service geared towards enhancing the health of people should be applauded by all.

Earlier, the Ag Executive Secretary of KOSACA, Mr. Ibrahim Anate, said they were in the ministry to seek collaboration on the forthcoming World Aids Day to be commemorated on December 1, 2024.

“To mark the day, we are organising a symposium on health talk for selected school students in Lokoja the State capital.

“We are seeking for collaboration with the ministry and other stakeholders for the success of the program,” Anate said.
