The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, says he expects Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to secure the easiest re-election victory in Kogi State’s history in 2027, pointing to what he described as the governor’s strong record on governance and development.
In a statement issued Saturday, Michael credited the administration’s popularity to sustained work on infrastructure, security, healthcare, education, agriculture and youth empowerment, arguing that these efforts have earned Ododo broad public support ahead of the 2027 poll.
The chairman reaffirmed that the Kogi West All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus is fully behind Ododo’s re-election bid. He also linked that support to a longer-term regional project, saying the caucus remains committed to advancing the “Okun for Governor 2031” agenda through unity and coordinated political engagement within the party.

Michael used the statement to appeal for cohesion within the party’s Kogi West bloc, describing it as united and focused on strengthening APC structures ahead of upcoming elections. He cautioned that personal ambition should not be allowed to create rifts among stakeholders, and called on party members — leaders, youths, women and support groups alike — to close ranks in what he framed as the interest of stability and development in the state.
Listing what he considers the administration’s achievements, Michael pointed to improved security cooperation, road construction, investment in healthcare facilities and primary care delivery, education reforms, regular payment of salaries and pensions, agricultural support programs, and youth and women empowerment schemes. He said these measures have strengthened public confidence in the APC-led government and put the state on what he called a path of accelerated development.
The chairman’s appeal extended beyond the state level. He urged residents of Kabba/Bunu, the wider Okun nation and Kogi West to also back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing its economic and infrastructure policies. He called on eligible voters to turn out “en masse” for Tinubu and Ododo, as well as for other APC candidates in future elections.
Michael closed by urging party members to stay disciplined and united, saying that a cohesive APC would be best placed to build on recent gains and deliver further development to Kogi State and the country.
