The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it holds the Kogi State governor, Idris Wada, in high esteem and will not do anything to embarrass him.

PDP national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on behalf of the National Working Committee of the party described Wada as a humble and brilliant administrator who has continued to discharge his duties with candour and commitment.

The party had said it is not true that the governor was kept waiting for hours’ during his visit to the national secretariat of the on Thursday.

“This is totally false and mischievous. The fact is that Governor Wada arrived the national secretariat some minutes ahead of the Acting National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, and was with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) before the arrival of the Acting  National Chairman.

“Soon after, the governor and his entourage met with the Acting National Chairman and had very useful discussions. The governor threw more light on the congresses held in his state and the composition of the state local organizing committee. The National Working Committee, at the end of the meeting resolved to look into the issues raised and take appropriate decision on them,” the party stated.
