The Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, on Wednesday sacked the state Accountant General Mr. Paul Audu with immediate effect.
Wada, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi, however did not give reasons for the Audu’s removal.
The governor thanked Audu for his years of service in the state and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Meanwhile, Wada has urged members of the state House of Assembly to expedite action on the passage of taxation bill to enable the state to improve on its internally generated revenue.
Speaking during the third year celebration of the state’s 5th Legislature of the Assembly in Lokoja, Wada said the passage of the bill had become imperative to shore up the dwindling federal allocation accruing to the state.
According to him, the lean resource of the state is hindering government from embarking on huge capital projects that could transform the state as well as improve on the people’s wellbeing.
