The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. -Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has commended the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, Lokoja, for its unwavering support in ensuring the security of the Orientation camp at Asaya, Kogi.

Nafiu gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Brigade, Brig. -Gen. Kasim Sidi, on Tuesday at Chari Meigumeri Barracks Lokoja.

The NYSC DG expressed appreciation for the deployment of experienced and professional military personnel to the camp.

Nafiu noted that concerns over the safety of corps members often dominate public discourse, especially during their movement to and from the orientation camp.

He, however, stated that the consistent presence and vigilance of officers from the 12 Brigade have greatly reassured parents and contributed to the peaceful conduct of orientation exercises in the state.

Responding, the brigade’s Commander appreciated the NYSC DG for the visit and reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to sustaining its partnership with the NYSC.

He assured the Scheme of continued military support to guarantee the safety of corps members, staff, and camp facilities.

The visit further strengthened the long-standing collaboration between the Army and NYSC in promoting a secured and conducive environment for national service in Kogi and Nigeria at large.
