INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF COMMUNITY POLICING (IICOPOL) HEADQUARTERS IDAH KOGI STATE NIGERIA

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The aims and objectives for which the (IICOPOL) is set up to be a lead- global resource Centre of excellence for effective community policing, and security strategies. Its aims and objective shall therefore be the following: –
(i) To provide a forum for the mutual exchange and cross-fertilization of ideas on community policing and experiences among members, other institutions, Governmental Departments in Nigeria and other part of the world;
(ii) To pursue, maintain and promote the security, peace and well-beings of the people of the world.
(iii) Expands the frontiers of knowledge of community policing through researches, training, advocacy, seminars, workshops, conferences, colloquia, symposia, exhibitions, and press releases in both print and electronic media.
(iv) Review of policing policies in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.
(v) Research funding and scholarship support in community policing.
(vi) Synergy of efforts of stakeholders through dialogue and establishment of participatory mechanisms.
(vii) To collaborate with National Government at all levels, bilateral and multilateral or organizations, Non- Governmental Organisations, Civil Society Organisations public-spirited individual and expert of community policing.
(viii) To work towards ending globally, all forms of violent agitations, especially terrorism.
(ix) To do anything whatsoever, within the limits of the law which is capable of enhancing or calculated to enhance the aims, activities, programs of the institution,
(x) To set up, run, operate and maintain an Endowment Fund for the realization of these aims and objectives.
The vacant positions are:
1. Executive Director, Programs & Operations 
Objectives:
a. Ensure smooth running of Institute
b. Develop and market program for the actualization of the institute objectives.
Duties
i. Shall be responsible for the report and success of all Directorates.
ii. Shall give daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual report to the Director-General as situation demands from time to time.
iii. Shall be the Chief Reporting Officers of the Institute.
iv. Shall develop program for the actualization of the objective of the Institute.
v. Shall monitor such program for effective implementation.
vi. Shall be able to manage network of partners; researches, security agencies, interns, policy makers through effective and efficient data base.
vii. Shall carry out several duties as may be assigned by the Director General from time to time.
viii. Shall be the Head of all operations.
ix. He shall be the alternate Director-General
Manning Specifications
1.  Must have a minimum of 7years post graduate experience in the field of sociology, criminology, policing and research of which a minimum of 2 years is spent in grant -aided security project.
2. A PhD in the field of Sociology, Criminology, Policing or related field with minimum of seven publications from a reputable institution.
3. Must be an exceptional character with sound English communication skill, analytical mind and good interpersonal relationship.
4. Must be proficient in Microsoft office: Microsoft word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel.
5. Membership of relevant professional body an added advantage.
2. Executive Director, Research & Planning Performance
a. Objectives a. Promotion and sustaining of research
b. Effective management of grant
c. Proactive planning
Duties
i. Management of grant and finance donations specific for research.
ii. Shall be responsible for all researches to be conducted by the institute.
iii. Shall be in charge of the institute journals and magazines.
iv. Shall constitute peer referees to review submissions for the institute journals
v. Shall appraise and report on research project, personnel from time to time.
vi. Shall work with relevant directorate of the institute to ensure research works personnel and logistics are mobilized and works concluded within or time frame.
vii. Shall give daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly report to the Director-General.
viii. Shall carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Manning Specifications
i. The person shall be a PhD holder in Sociology, Criminology, or related field, who must have a minimum of 7-year post PhD cognate experience in the field of sociology, criminology, community policing or related research and method.
ii. Must have a minimum of (7) seven relevant research publications.  iv. Must have worked in grant-based organization for a minimum of 12 months,
iii. Must have a good grasp of contemporary security challenges of the world and insights of concept of community policing.
iv. Must have sound communication skills, analytical strength and good interpersonal relationship.
v. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft office word and Microsoft power point.
vi. Membership of professional body an advantage.
3. Executive Director, Training & Development Performance  
Objectives:
a). Achievement of optimal work performance by staff.
b). Resourceful and motivated personnel and training participant.
Duties
i. Identify the training need of staff and personnel of partner’s organization.
ii. Shall provide consultancy services on behalf of the institute.
iii. Cause capacity to be built based on need. iv. Shall maintain Documentation on outcomes of training.
iv. Shall report on daily, weekly, monthly quarterly and annually, on training and capacity building, in view of object of the institute to the Director -General.
Manning Specification
The Person Shall:
1) Shall hold a degree in sociology, personnel management, or related field.
2) Master’s degree in relevant field is an added advantage
3) Shall have at least 7-year Cognate Experience as Training officer or related responsibility.
 4)Shall be fluent in English Language and/or French.
5) Must be proficient and Microsoft office: Excel word & PowerPoint.
6) Must have good communication and interpersonal skill
7) Membership of professional bodies -an advantage
4. Executive Director, Administration, and General Services
Objectives:
a) Effective administration of the Institute.
b). Effective personnel management of the Institute.
Duties
i. Shall act as the head of administration
ii. Shall set and monitor performance targets for appointees of the Institute.
iii. Shall be the head of the secretariat
iv. Shall make appropriate recommendation, reward, promotion, sack, retirement of staff.
iv. Establishment of management information system for working synergy of all Directorates and personnel.
v. Shall carry out other functions as may be assigned from time to-time by the Director-General.
Manning Specifications
1. Must have at least 7 years Cognate experience in similar position.
2. Must have sharp management analytical skills
3. Must possess a degree in sociology, administration or social sciences.
4. Master’s degree in relevant field is an added advantage.
5. Must be either a chartered administrator or chartered secretary or related professional area.
6. Must be proficient in Microsoft office. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point & Microsoft Excel.
5. Executive Director, Finance, Budget and Investment.
Objectives:
a) Efficient management of Fund of the Institute.
Duties
i. Shall be the head of finance of the institute
ii. Shall establish an accounting system for the institute; ensuring book keeping culture is established and purchased.
iii. Shall act as the Chief Accounting Officer of Institute.
vi. Shall carry out other functions as may be assigned from time to-time by the Director General.
Manning Specifications
i. Must have at least 7 years Cognate experience in similar position.
ii. Must have sharp financial analytical skills
iii. Must holds a degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance etc. or recognized equivalent qualification from institution of higher learning.
iv. Possession of Masters’ degree an added advantage.
v. Must be either a chartered accountant or similar professional experience.
vi. Must be proficient in Microsoft office. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point & Microsoft Excel.
Please note that these positions will constitute Board of Executive Directors/Management Committee of the Institute.
