Yesterday, June 10, 2026, marks a historic milestone in the political and democratic journey of our people as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the restoration of the Ogugu State Constituency. This development is not merely an administrative decision; it is the restoration of the voice, rights, and political identity of the good people of Ogugu.
For years, our people endured the challenges associated with the suppression of our constituency. Many felt marginalized, underrepresented, and deprived of the full benefits of democratic governance. However, through persistence, advocacy, and the collective determination of patriotic sons and daughters of Ogugu, justice has finally prevailed.
The restoration of the Ogugu State Constituency brings enormous benefits to our people. It guarantees stronger representation in the legislative process, ensures that our unique needs and aspirations receive adequate attention, and opens new opportunities for infrastructural development, job creation, educational advancement, and improved social welfare. Most importantly, it restores the political dignity of our people and strengthens grassroots democracy.
As one of the sons of the soil, I am deeply grateful to God and to every individual who contributed to this victory. I take pride in the fact that, from the very beginning, I stood firmly with others who believed in this cause and fought relentlessly for the restoration of our constituency. The journey was not easy, but our commitment never wavered because we understood that justice delayed should never become justice denied.
Today, I call on all Ogugu sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to unite behind this new chapter in our history. This victory belongs to all of us, and together we must maximize the opportunities that come with it. We must set aside our differences, embrace unity, and build a constituency that future generations will be proud of.
As we look ahead to 2027, I humbly seek your support and partnership. Having stood with the people throughout the struggle for the restoration of our constituency, I remain committed to championing the interests of our people and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every community, every family, and every citizen.
I also wish to reaffirm my unwavering faith in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party that remains the most credible and reliable opposition platform in Nigeria today. The PDP has consistently demonstrated its commitment to democratic principles, good governance, inclusiveness, and people-oriented leadership. It remains the party best positioned to provide credible alternatives and deliver meaningful development to our people.
The future of the Ogugu State Constituency is bright. Let us seize this historic opportunity to build a constituency founded on justice, progress, accountability, and sustainable development. Together, we can create a new era of prosperity and ensure that the voices of our people are heard loud and clear in the halls of government.
The restoration of the Ogugu State Constituency is a victory for democracy, a victory for justice, and above all, a victory for the resilient people of Ogugu.
